The dream act! stage 5

Don’t we all just hate that all of the immigrants are taking our jobs and they are one of the main reasons why the united states is in major debt! They are just a bunch of uneducated criminals that are overcrowding our jails! Yeah, sure, there are a lot of those out there, but there are a lot of legal people doing the same, or even worse, why should the ones that actually come here to work and just go to school pay for what others do? If a child is brought into the country illegally there is no method of becoming a legal resident. Returning to their country of birth would not guarantee a path to legal status. Attempts to come back legally are often difficult, with roadblocks such as ten year ban on re-entering the U.S. which would cause even more issues, especially for those that have family here. They would do anything again to re-enter the U.S to see their family. Why should anyone that was brought to this country as a child, or even a young teenager be punished for something that they didn’t have a choice? Quite often families of immigrants come to the US to give their kids a better life, chance to live, and have what they couldn’t afford back at their home country. I don’t think that they should be treated as criminals for something that they didn’t even do. Some or most of those kids grow up with your kids sharing toys, a good laugh, or being best friends at some point in life. The only difference would be their culture, color, and how much money their parents make a year!
Almost everyone argues that if you weren't born here you should go back to where you came from! It is something that I hear almost everyday. We the people are entitled to our own opinion, but I would like for you to not just go off a simple assumption and become well informed. You should read and discover the foundations of our country. If we go back a few hundred years and look on the map we were actually part of Spain. What holds this country to the ground is the foreign policy. This country needs the support of immigrants and many people may act like it’s not true but it is. If we are going to send all the immigrants back then everyone would have to leave, except for the Native Americans of course. Even the person that founded America was from Geneva Italy! Yes I do agree that some illegal immigrants are criminals and drug dealers and what ever people call them, but last time I checked there are also white people, black people, Asians and Europeans in jail. Not all of them are criminals! We should definitely try to work something out and set some ground rules, we can’t lose control of what goes in and out of the country, and we need to give these people the opportunity to be better!
The Development, Relief and Education for Alien Minors Act aka the “Dream act” has been around for almost a decade, and this year it was introduced in the United States Senate, and the United States House of Representatives in March 26, 2009. One more time, what is the “dream act”? The dream act would provide certain immigrants the opportunity to earn permanent residency in the United states, they would have the right to go to school and work in the US for a temporary time, around six years, and on the time being the person would either have or must attend college and earn a two or four year degree, or serve the military forces for two years in order to earn a citizenship. Over 2.6 million kids that are illegal will graduate from high school this year, some will join the military forces and some just will get a job to help their family. On top of all that the student must have a clean record, and know English!
